Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that mop and vacuum offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet mess (spills or stains) in one time without the need to change devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer at a modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to swiftly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
For instance, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen areas but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only issue it has is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading, and which obstacles it's run into or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance tasks need to be done including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, prior to having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you view all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. The model of this year features a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, and determine if they're walls or other surfaces. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean around them without missing a step.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only downside I've found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it's difficult to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app is where you can manage and set up these smart features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll need to jump through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to feature 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum cleans up dry debris, including pet hair and food particles. It also comes with a top-quality mop that makes hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad. Additionally, the X40 is very quiet during its operation, with only occasional bursts of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under low-profile furnishings, making it an excellent option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.
In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, and reverse the process. It can be controlled using the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and user-friendly and the X40's clever features are easy to install. 4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has several characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles and pick up spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. It's a system that we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuum and mop models and it could be a great method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.
There's a wealth of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or there are direct buttons on the unit itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are numerous functions that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not a lot of weight. It is solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
